More Movement for the Elderly, will take place on Saturday, June 10.
Senior citizens are invited to the St. Martin’s Home which is located at St. John’s Estate road #6 for More Movement for the Elderly Fitness.
To stay healthy or to improve health, older adults need to do two types of physical activity each week: aerobic and muscle-strengthening activity.
Older adults aged 60 or older, who are generally fit and have no health conditions that limit their mobility, should try to be active daily.
The activity has been organized and coordinated over a one-year period by Collective Prevention Services (CPS), a department from the Sint Maarten Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour, the White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF), Windward Islands Physical Therapist Association (WIPTA) and I&I Fitness.
The Saturday activity is being coordinated by WYCCF from 10.30AM to 12.00PM at the aforementioned address.
It’s recommended that adults aged 60 or older do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity such as cycling or fast walking every week, and muscle-strengthening activities that work all major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms).
Some activity, however light, is better for your health than none at all.

Sxm Government Website Is Back!
Lots of catching up to do, busy organizing the new editors, some of the original editors, admins and moderators are returning.
There are a few websites. No I have not sold out, there is a lot of syndication to do. Thousands have jointed the network in the past couple of years, so it is a real job trying to add everyone, throwing out people, building and maintaining the groups and pages etc. 10 down, 1200 to go 🙂
