We were eagerly awaiting the public announcements from the KPSM St Maarten police department, concerning when they would bring out the alcohol sniffing dogs for Carnival. After all during carnival it’s the people who are drinking out of control, are the ones who wreak havoc, assault and attack others. But considering the number of straight up alcoholics in the Police department, many who are functioning drunks, we doubt that we will be hearing that announcement anytime soon. It is somewhat ridiculous that so much money and resources are spent to train these poor animals on how to find marijuana when the country is a part of the cocaine triangle, and the drug is used rampantly, especially among the elite… government… in St Maarten. When the police department actually showed the crime statistics. The ones that they allowed us to see, there were alcohol related violence and drug busts, but not one stat that I read concerned the consumption of marijuana.
If the police department would just switch from liquor to marijuana, then maybe they would not be so uptight and violent.
